We are always happy to hear from teachers who would like to be a part of the best school in the area and welcome you to submit your resumé for our consideration. While we are not always hiring, we will keep your information on file for a year and will review your experience and credentials when the need for additional staff arises. Our track record is such that we do not have a high degree of staff turnover, so we must be doing something right! From time to time, we will add specific staffing needs to this page and would invite you to check back often.
The Cappella School of Music is seeking a dynamic Woodwinds teacher:
The Cappella School of Music is looking for great young teacher of woodwinds, who loves working with kids (6-16) in both popular and classical genres and who can be available later this month or by early December at the latest. Most of our students range in experience from beginner through intermediate, with a few advanced students and adults as well. A Degree in Music or considerable experience as a working musician is a must, but more important is your ability to engage the students on a level that lets them have fun while learning.
Our school is now in its fifteenth year of operation and has a great and long tenured staff. We are looking for a special candidate to join its ranks and help us to continue to deliver the very best musical instruction in the area.
Our specific need is for a teacher who can teach saxophone and clarinet but we would be very happy to find a candidate with a wider range of instrumental knowledge.
Other Instruments: Our expectation is that we will have need, in short order, for another guitar, piano, violin and voice teacher, as our current teachers’ schedules fill up. If you would like to place your resumé on file with us, we will be glad to look it over and keep it on file!
Cappella is located in Oreland, five minutes from Glenside, Chestnut Hill and Fort Washington. We are open Monday through Thursday, 3:00-8:00p.m., and Saturday from 10:00a.m. to 3:00p.m. You can learn more about us by visiting our web site: www.cappellaschoolofmusic.com
Please e-mail your resume, indicating your availability and the instruments you are qualified to teach for immediate consideration. All resumés will also be kept on file for one year. Specialists in one instrument are encouraged to apply, but for obvious reasons, generalists often stand the best chance of quickly developing a sizable roster.
Pay Scale: Beginning teachers start at $22.50 per hour and advance to $28.00 per hour with tenure
