The Cappella School of Music has created a conservatory approach to music training in a nurturing
environment.
Private Lessons - At the core of our program is the private lesson. The tried
and true method of a one on one teacher / student lesson is supplemented with bi-monthly concertizing and ensemble classes. Simply stated, our program takes the essential learning that occurs
in the classroom between the teacher and the student and provides the student with the opportunity to apply his or her new found skills by playing with and for others.
Ensembles – In coordination with our calendar of concert opportunities, we offer a
group of ensembles for students who want to experience the joys of playing with other musicians. All intermediate and advanced students are eligible to join an ensemble led by a faculty member.
Ensembles are made up of players with similar skill levels and interests. The ensembles meet for one hour sessions for 8 weeks and then end with a performance at one of our scheduled concerts. Some
past ensembles were: Rock Band, For Girls Only, Rhythm Groove Jam and Jazz Band. Already in a band? Many of our students sign up as a band for an ensemble season to reap the benefits of
working under the direction of our staff and learning the basics of arranging songs for live performance.
Concerts - Cappella is deeply committed to the concept of presenting many live
performance opportunities for our students and currently presents a concert at a local venue every other month throughout the year. Students perform solo, in duets with teachers or other
students, and even in full band configurations. Our shows are well attended with average audiences of 120-200 people. We see it not only as a chance for the students to strut their stuff,
but also for them to experience what it is to give back to their community through their chosen artistic medium. Be sure to check out our Calendar of Upcoming Concerts
